Armpit liberation has arrived!
If you're here, it's because you're thinking about switching to a natural deodorant. Not sure how to make the transition? As always, at Banbu, we've prepared this article for you to make it easier and more effective from day one.
After years of using deodorants and antiperspirants that clog your pores (We tell you how here), it's essential to understand that using a natural aluminum-free deodorant is not the same as one with a synthetic formulation. The effect of chemical antiperspirants is usually immediate because they temporarily block sweating, but often at the cost of harsh ingredients for the skin.
A natural deodorant needs a brief adjustment period, as it respects your body's biological process and uses gentle, skin-friendly ingredients.
Why choose a natural deodorant? Impact on your health?
We know that conventional deodorants and antiperspirants contain various toxic chemicals that, in the long run, negatively affect our health. There are equally effective alternatives!
It's time to make the switch and prevent all those diseases caused by the continuous use of these substances in our endocrine system: heart disease, diabetes, or cancer. There are equally effective alternatives!
We must remember that sweating is an essential process for thermal regulation and the elimination of toxins that our body naturally produces every day. Antiperspirants stop this process; natural deodorants, however, neutralize bad odor without clogging your skin.
💡 Banbu Super Tip: The time of day when you sweat the least is at night. Apply your natural deodorant before bed on clean skin if you want its active ingredients to work more effectively.

Natural deodorant reviews: Our happy customers
At Banbu, we don't sell instant efficacy (it's impossible), but we assure you that after a few days, you'll start to love the power of natural cosmetics.
Many of our customers have been using our deodorants for years and are clear that they would never go back to using those toxins sold in traditional supermarkets. Here are some reviews of our star products:

They are also aware that besides achieving the desired efficacy, by using natural deodorant, they are avoiding polluting the environment.
In 2023, it was revealed that the deodorant industry produces 6.8 billion kilograms of plastic per year. And that's just one part of global production, states António Guterres, UN Secretary-General, in 2023:
Humanity produces more than 400 million tons of plastic per year, of which one-third is used only once and barely 10% is recycled, and every day an amount of plastic equivalent to the load of more than 2,000 garbage trucks is dumped into seas, rivers, and lakes.
And not only that, their artificial and chemical fragrances react in the form of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with other compounds in the atmosphere (according to Brian McDonald in the study by the US Meteorological Agency published in 2018).
Want to know something sad? The United States grossed $6 billion in 2023 with conventional deodorants. This is equivalent to a quarter of the entire market.

People still think that buying products that care for the environment and people doesn't do anything... Sustainable production is an expensive process that takes time and care. We do it for humanity and for the planet; profiting at the expense of destroying our own Nature is shameful!
How do I start?
First of all, dare to demystify sweat and accept your body as it is. Although you've been using these types of products for so many years that you probably don't know how it works... it's never too late!
Nature is wise, and if you stop using them, you'll start to notice very drastic changes in your smell, your sweating, and your body in general. Keep in mind that you're removing a plug full of chemicals; all the bad stuff has to come out somewhere. It's a detoxification process.
So don't panic and, above all, DON'T GIVE UP. Sometimes the smell of our sweat puts us off, but it's temporary. In fact, it's been shown that armpits have a detoxification process that lasts between 2 and 4 weeks. So yes, you'll smell awful...
Recommendations to make it easier for you
- Exfoliate your armpits
- Watch what you eat
- Warm the product slightly with your hands when applying it so it absorbs better
- Let your armpits breathe; don't always apply deodorant
You have a range of two formats to try: solid stick and cream. All of them are organic, vegan, suitable for pregnant women, gluten-free, and 100% natural. Effective deodorants without abandoning your values! They will certainly be your favorites.

If after this period you still have the problem, don't force it, the deodorant shouldn't have to adapt to you. Each person finds greater effectiveness with some, and with others, they notice nothing. There are many types, with different fragrances and ingredients, try another one if you're not convinced!
