Shampoo and curly hair products
Shampoo for curly hair and products for the curly method
Frizz, curls that fall flat by mid-morning, dry ends that get tangled… Curly hair is naturally drier because the natural oils struggle to travel along the curve of the curl. The curly method starts right there: hydrate thoroughly and use gentle formulas without harsh sulfates, non-soluble silicones or drying alcohols, which over time leave curls dry and undefined.
All the products in this collection are suitable for the curly method and cover the complete routine:
Step 1. Cleanse without drying. Choose your shampoo for curly hair: the low poo solid shampoo FLUFFY or the liquid KURLI, also available in a refill.
Step 2. Hydrate and detangle. FRUIT solid conditioner or ABSOLUTE nourishing conditioner, for dry and damaged hair.
Step 3. Define. Styling powder gel for curly hair: mix with water and it sets the curls without weighing them down.
Extra. Intensive nourishment. The Velvet pre-wash mask is applied to dry hair before shampooing to restore the most damaged ends.
Just starting out? The shampoo + conditioner packs are the easiest way to begin, and the mini-size pack with FRUIT is perfect for trying out or traveling. If it's your first time, we explain what the curly method is and how to apply it step by step.

Preguntas frecuentes
What do I need to get started with the curly method?
Less than you might think: a curly-friendly shampoo and a conditioner. You don't need to buy the entire routine at once. FLUFFY is the solid shampoo for curls and KURLI is the liquid one; for conditioner, FRUIT in solid form or ABSOLUTE in liquid. The defining gel comes afterwards.
Are they suitable for the curly method?
Yes: free from sulfates, silicones, and drying alcohols—the three groups the method discards. Regarding why sulfates are the most questioned ingredient: are sulfates really bad?.
It leaves my curls heavy or lacking definition, what's wrong?
It's usually one of three things. Too much product: with curls, less is more. Inadequate rinsing: solid products require much more rinsing than one might think, especially with hard water. Or applying on damp hair instead of soaking wet: defining product should always be applied to soaking wet hair. If you are coming from silicone-based products, allow for a transition period of several weeks for the fiber to clear of residue.
How do I apply it to define my curls?
On soaking wet hair. Distribute, shape the curl by scrunching from the ends towards the roots, and let it air dry or use a diffuser on low heat. When completely dry, run your hands through your hair to break the cast left by the gel: that's when soft definition appears. More tips in how to define your curls.
Why do curls get drier than straight hair?
Pure geometry: the sebum from the scalp travels easily down a straight fiber, but takes much longer to descend along a curve. Curls are dry at the ends by default, which is why conditioner is not optional here. We explain it in this article.
I have a lot of frizz
Frizz appears when a dehydrated fiber absorbs moisture from the environment. The three levers are a shampoo that doesn't dry, something to seal in that hydration, and less heat. We detail it in how to reduce hair frizz.
Conditioner or hair mask?
They don't do the same thing. Conditioner is for frequent use and works on the surface; the Velvet mask is a weekly treatment and is applied to dry hair before washing. We compare them in what is the difference.
