Dandruff and sensitive scalp

Natural anti-dandruff shampoo for sensitive scalps

White flakes on dark clothing, an itchy scalp, redness or tightness after washing your hair… Dandruff and sensitivity often go hand in hand: when the scalp barrier is unbalanced, flaking and irritation appear. Many conventional anti-dandruff shampoos provide relief at first, but end up drying the scalp out even more due to harsh ingredients.

  • NUVÉ anti-dandruff shampoo: soothing; reduces dandruff, relieves itching, and repairs the skin barrier with biotechnological active ingredients.
  • SMOOTH solid anti-dandruff shampoo: for sensitive scalps, gently restores balance. Plastic-free.
  • NUVÉ refill: refill your bottle twice.

Natural formulas, free from sulfates and silicones. If flaking is very intense or patches appear, consult your dermatologist.

Preguntas frecuentes

What is dandruff and why does it appear?

It is an accelerated renewal of scalp cells, usually associated with a fungus that lives on every head and becomes imbalanced. That is why it is not a question of hygiene: washing more often, or more vigorously, usually makes it worse. We expand on this in how to eliminate dandruff without irritating the hair.

SMOOTH or NUVÉ?

SMOOTH is the solid bar, for sensitive scalps with dandruff. NUVÉ is the liquid version, with a more clinical approach: it reduces dandruff, soothes itching, and works on the scalp's barrier and microbiome. If you have seborrheic dermatitis or a very irritated scalp, start with NUVÉ.

I have dandruff and also oily hair

It is the most difficult combination, and it is worth noting: a very nourishing anti-dandruff shampoo can leave your hair oilier, and a very astringent one can cause more irritation. Our recommendation is to treat the scalp first with NUVÉ and, once the itching and flaking subside, alternate with MARE for excess sebum. More guidelines in how to keep oily hair clean for longer.

How long does it take to notice results?

Itching usually subsides before flaking: days versus weeks. Give it a margin of three or four weeks of regular use. And keep in mind that dandruff is recurring by nature: it is managed, not cured once and for all, so it is normal to keep the shampoo in your routine even if you improve.

I have itching but I don't see dandruff

Then it is probably not dandruff, but an irritated or sensitized scalp, often due to the shampoo itself, very hot water, or scratching with your fingernails. The approach is the opposite of the intuitive one: a gentler product, lukewarm water, and massaging with your fingertips. We cover this in how to relieve an itchy scalp.

Is it suitable for children?

NUVÉ is suitable from the age of 3. For babies and younger children, KALM, which is the shampoo-gel formulated for their skin.

When should I see a doctor?

If well-defined red patches, crusts, or non-healing sores appear, or if the flaking spreads to the eyebrows, nose, or ears, that is no longer common dandruff and deserves an evaluation by a dermatologist. A cosmetic shampoo accompanies treatment, but it does not replace it.
