Wooden Toothbrushes

Biodegradable wooden and bamboo toothbrushes

Every plastic toothbrush takes hundreds of years to decompose. A bamboo toothbrush cleans just as well, but with a biodegradable wooden handle.

  • Soft bristles: for sensitive gums.
  • Medium bristles: the perfect balance for everyday use.
  • Hard bristles: for those looking for a more intense clean feeling.
  • Kids' extra-soft bristles: with a size adapted for little ones.
  • Wooden case to protect it when you travel.

Replace it every three months, just like any toothbrush. Complete your routine with toothpaste tablets and vegan dental floss.

Preguntas frecuentes

Which bristle hardness should I choose?

First of all, a heads-up that many customers give us and that we prefer to share in advance: our hardness levels tend to be on the softer side compared to conventional brushes. If you use medium supermarket brushes and want the same feeling, go for hard. If you use soft, the medium ones will suit you. And if you have sensitive gums or recession, choose soft without hesitation.

Wouldn't a hard brush clean better?

No, and that is the belief that causes the most damage to oral hygiene. Plaque is removed with technique and time, not force: brushing hard with stiff bristles wears down enamel and causes gum recession, which does not recover. Most dentists recommend soft or medium.

The brush head seems wide to me

This is an observation we receive and it has a simple solution: the children's model has a smaller head, and many adults with small mouths or who want to reach their wisdom teeth better prefer it. Its bristles are extra-soft, so keep that in mind when choosing.

Is it 100% biodegradable?

The handle is: it is Moso bamboo, which is compostable. The bristles are Dupont nylon 6 and are not, because currently there is no plant-based bristle that cleans well and doesn't rot in the mouth. We prefer to tell you this than to sell a "100% biodegradable" product that wouldn't be true. At the end of its useful life, pull the bristles out with pliers and compost the handle.

How often should I change it?

Every three months, or sooner if the bristles splay. A brush with deformed bristles does not clean; it only gives the sensation of cleaning. Always change it after a throat infection or a bad cold.

How do I take care of it so the bamboo doesn't get damaged?

Rinse it well and let it dry standing up, with the bristles in the air and not touching other brushes. The weak point of wood is staying damp: do not store it in a cup with water at the bottom or in a closed toiletry bag before it dries. For travel, use the wooden case.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, the children's model with extra-soft bristles. Up until age 7 or 8, it is best for an adult to double-check the brushing, because the dexterity to reach all sides of the teeth develops later than it seems.

What else do I need besides the brush?

The brush reaches three of the five surfaces of the tooth: the other two are covered by dental floss. And the tongue, which accumulates a good portion of the bacteria in the mouth, requires a tongue scraper. We explain why in the secret to a healthy mouth.
