It's not necessary, but recommended. The applicator facilitates the correct use of the deodorant, due to its texture; without the applicator it is more difficult to apply and it runs out faster than usual. They are designed to be used with an applicator.

How do you apply solid deodorant?
Solid deodorants are easy to apply, although we always recommend using an applicator to make it even simpler. Rub the bar on your armpit and spread the product with your fingers to even out the layer.

How can I improve the effectiveness of this deodorant?
For best results, we recommend exfoliating your armpits 1-2 times per week to remove bacteria and residue from other products (this is especially important before the first use), washing daily with solid soap to keep the area clean, applying a small amount of deodorant and massaging until absorbed, and wearing breathable clothing, such as cotton or linen garments, to help maintain freshness.
